Beginning with version 6.5f, Scrap Dragon has offered a loyalty reward point system. The system awards points based on the customer and commodity setup. Up to 3 different award levels can be used. The customer is awarded points based on his assigned award level. The actually points awarded are based on the formula in each commodity. Point calculations are based on dollars or any unit of measure.
In the commodity master file maintenance, on the Commodity Pricing Tab, establish the point value for each purchase. This can be done for each of the 3 award levels. Some examples:
100 points for each pound of # 1 copper
1 point for each $ of Aluminum Sheet
50 points for each Gross Ton of P&S
In the customer master file maintenance, on the Buy Tab, assign the customer to the desired award level.
Award Balances can be added to the scale ticket and to the cashier receipt. Sample forms are attached to this article.
Points are redeemed in Scrap Buying. Create a commodity button for each gift to be redeemed or use a generic button for points redemption. This is set up like any other commodity, except that the unit of measure must be each and the price is 0. Set the award points to negative the number of points to redeem and the unit of measure to each.
For example, if a $25 Home Depot gift card is worth 5,000 points, then set up a commodity for a $25 Home Depot Gift Card, set the price to $0 each and set the award points to -5000 each. When that commodity is selected in Scrap Buying, it will remove 5000 pts for each $25 Home Depot Gift Card, based on the quantity entered.
You could also set up a commodity for a generic redemption of points and enter the required amount based on the gift they select. For example, create a commodity for 100 points, set the price to $0 each and set the award points to -100 each. When that commodity is selected in Scrap Buying, it will remove 100 points times the quantity entered.
