PREPARING SCRAP DRAGON XTREME FOR TEXAS DPS REPORT UPLOAD

Before uploading data to the Texas DPS, there are special codes that must be setup in User Defined Lists.  These are the only acceptable codes and are required to prevent file rejection.

Once the codes are setup in the user defined lists the codes must be assigned in 3 master files; Vehicles, Commodity Master and Customer Master.

System Configuration; User Defined Lists
Colors - must match codes in the downloadable attachment.
Government Commodity Group - Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, Copper, LeadMaterial, RegulatedMetals
ID Type - DL, Military ID, State ID
Transport - Automobile, Bicycle, Walk
TX DPS Types - Auto or Light Truck, Heavy Duty Truck, Motorcycles

User Menu; Add New Vehicle
Enter the vehicle type code and TCIC code for each auto model.  A list of TCIC codes is available for download below.

Back Office; Master Files; Commodity Master
For the State of Texas, you are required to report purchase transactions for Copper, Brass, Aluminum, Bronze, Lead and a specific list of Regulated Metals.  In the Government Reporting Section for each of the commodities in the file:

  1. For items that are not reportable check the Exempt box, otherwise.complete steps 2 and 3 below.
  2. Enter the Government Metal – Copper, Brass, Aluminum,, Bronze, LeadMaterial or RegulatedMetals – if any of these choices are not available, they can be added in Back Office; Maintenance; Setup; User Defined Tables; Commodity Govt Group (see above)
  3. Enter the Description from the approved description list. A list of approved descriptions is available for download below.

Back Office; Master Files; Customer Master
For each business customer, on the Buy tab, in the Exemptions section check the box marked Exempt from State Reporting.

NOTE: When entering a customer's delivery vehicle information, there can be no dashes or spaces in the plate number.  If you already have many license plates with spaces and dashes, contact the help desk for a global fix that is available.
