There is semi-automatic paper loading on this printer which is very easy once you get the hang of it.  The first and most important requirement is that the end of the paper be cut straight and square with a pair of scissors.  Do not rip the paper or tear it on the edge of a table. which can leave a rough edge that won't feed correctly.  Use scissors.  Once there is a square, clean cut on the end of the paper, place the roll of paper so that the paper feeds from the top of the roll, not the bottom.  Then lift the large green handle and tilt the presenter forward.  Push the neatly cut paper just under the white plastic rollers, but not into the presenter.  Then lift the presenter back into place.  The paper will automatically feed through the presenter and initiate a cut.   This is illustrated in the attached instructions which can be downloaded below.
